Owning my own salon has always been a dream of mine. After 14 years in the hair industry, I’m finally turning that dream into reality, and I couldn’t be more excited to share this journey with you.
I started my training at Vidal Sassoon when I was just 16, where I received the best possible education in hairdressing. I’m forever grateful to my first boss, Stephen, who supported me throughout my training while I worked alongside him in his Buckinghamshire salon.
A few years later, I wanted to experience the buzz of London life, so I joined a prestigious central London salon. There, I worked my way up to become Colour Manager and Senior Master Stylist. During this time, I was lucky enough to work with some incredible names in the industry and to educate for L’Oréal Professionnel, not only across the UK but also in Greece, Portugal, and Madrid.
Becoming an educator for L’Oréal and styling makeovers on This Morning have been huge highlights in my career, until now, when I discovered this little gem at 44 Devonshire Road and decided to make it home.
The salon is currently being built by a brilliant company called BePositiveSalons, who design and create beautiful salons all over the UK.
Together, we’ve carefully planned out every detail, from the mood and style of the interior to the floor plan and 3D visuals. I can’t wait for you to see the finished result!
Our goal is to create a welcoming, modern space where you can relax, recharge, and leave feeling confident with gorgeous hair.
There’s a quote I’ve always loved:
“You’ll never have to work a day in your life if you love the job you do.”
Cheesy maybe, but so true! Studies have shown that hairdressers are among the happiest professionals, and I can absolutely see why.
My career is my passion. I love nothing more than making people smile and helping them feel amazing about themselves through great hair.
The salon is still under construction, but we’re hoping to open our doors in June. If you’d like to follow along and see the transformation in progress, head over to the “Under Construction” section of the blog for updates and behind-the-scenes photos.
Thank you so much for all the support so far, I can’t wait to welcome you into MAYFIVE Hair, your new favourite salon on Devonshire Road.
