Gemma's gorgeous locks are the definition of #hairgoals for all of us brunettes!
When I first started colouring Gemma's hair back in 2013, we both decided we always wanted to compliment her natural hair colour and to ensure a low maintenance re-growth.
Heres 5 reasons why it always looks so damn good!!!
1. BABYLIGHTS AND BALAYAGE
We do a full head of babylight foils from the root with a colour that is only two shades lighter than Gemma's natural base.
This means we are utilising her natural colour ensuring the grow out is soft.
Less is more -we keep the balayage on the ends minimal. Never exceeding too many levels of lightness with the pre lightener which means happy, healthy hair!
This way Gemma's hair never looks overdue = Ultimate Goal!
2. SMARTBOND
Keeping that glow with L'Oreal's SmartBond! A bonding agent that is added into the colour that helps to keep the hair at its optimum condition during the colouring process, and after!
3. ITS ALL IN THE SLICING
Using a slicing technique when cutting to remove the weight seamlessly - this allows me to keep the base line heavy, but create texture internally for shape.
4. THE TWO T'S
*TONGING AND TEXTURE SPRAY*
Want to rock that effortless, chic wave to? Easy!
Tong the hair with a large barrel tong (a tong which is the same width from end to tip) take vertical sections throughout the hair and create what I like to call, long sausages!
Once you've tonged everything, let it cool down! Shake them out using the Davines Texture Spray for the ultimate lived in wave!
5. HOMECARE
Totally goes with out saying, look after you locks!
You've spent a lot on a beautiful colour - be sure to use Paraben, Sulphate free products - and a toning shampoo or conditioner if required.
